Each Friday, I will bring a new quote that has inspired, moved or educated me in some way or another. I find the words, thoughts and ideas of others - whether known or unknown - have often helped to shape my day, and in turn my life, at the most opportune moment - some would call it universal intervention, some might call it fate, some might call it our Reticular Activating System doing its job. Whatever it might be, the hope is that each Friday, some words of wisdom might just get you thinking.

I have heard the words “You can’t” more times than I can remember. To a point, I kind of love it when I hear it as my brain goes into full on competitive mode of “Oh, is that a challenge? Watch Me”.
The funny thing is that when those words are spoken by my own mind, I have been one to spin on a sixpence and retreat faster than a road-runner.
It is my personal opinion that there are two words that are the driving force behind personally achieving an ultimate outcome and your WHY in Life. These two words are the most powerful words that you can and will ever speak to yourself about any situation -
"CAN" and "CAN'T"
As I've said many times, "CAN" is a word of power; whereas, "CAN'T" is a word of retreat.
You have the power to decide if you wish to ACHIEVE or RETREAT, because when you speak victory words such as "I CAN", you will attain whatever you set out to do regardless of what others are saying to you. I can attest to the fact that if you spoke with anybody who has achieved their ultimate goals and dreams, they would tell you that in the beginning of their journey the majority of people told them - you CAN'T do that! Fortunately, they disregarded these statements and listened to their inner voice, who said, "Oh yes I CAN!"
But what happens when you are the one saying “You Can’t”?
The key in life is to realise the most important person who speaks to you every day is you on the inside! You need to review your WHY in Life and see if you are on track toward achieving your WHY, or are you on a detour because someone told you, or you told you that "You CAN'T do that so stop dreaming and just forget about it!"
Make an intention to BUILD your mindset daily, of doing the inside work day in and day out, an intention to speak to yourself and say, "Today I will take another productive stride!" - Put your hand on your heart as you do it - makes a difference as you do and say those words out loud to yourself. It is like every fibre of your body starts to become aligned with your thinking.
Each morning, I spend time visualising. It was a massive part of my life when playing sport and I can share numerous examples of where I, and others, have used visualisation to move them through fear, towards I CAN and CONFIDENCE. Visualisation helps me to set out my day, my attitude, my actions, my behaviours, my achievements. To see myself doing those things before I have even done them. So that when I come to do them, my brain already has a reference point and weirdly, it feels somewhat easier to face and do than without the visualisation.
My personal driver for each day is to build a support space and community of people who can inspire and motivate all of us to make the world a better place in which to live. I have to admit if it was not for my inner person saying, "Kerry you CAN do it! YOU CAN do it!" I may not be in the position of success that I will ultimately be in, but I AM MOVING. Some days it will still be difficult, but guess what -- we ARE doing it!”
In summary, you need to ask yourself a very honest question, "Am I listening to my victory words from the inside or am letting the inner chimp or outer defeat (loser) words control my outcome in life?".
