Everyday we are climbing mountains, some that we didn’t even realise we were climbing or had forgotten we are on.
Some small, some hills, some cha-cha moments.
But everyday, on the mountain, the sun rises in beautiful colour and sets in beautiful splendour.
The storms come and go.
The stars shine and sparkle.
For the mountain offers us a place to learn, experience, to be curious, and to feel every emotion possible.
It holds us, it reminds us, it strengthens us in ways that only mountains can.
Even though we may be knocked on that mountain, we have to remind ourselves of all the mountains we have climbed before, of all the times the rocks have slipped beneath our feet and we got back up, of all the times we were told we couldn’t and shouldn’t, but did anyway.
Because it is those times, regardless of any outcomes, regardless of anyone else’s thoughts, judgements, perceptions and interpretations - that are there to remind you to hold your head up and to look up at the peak - because it is that direction you are going in, it is in that direction that the sun shines and highlights your magical, glittery inner little beam. It is in that direction, with your shoulders back, you heart and soul in hand, and with your self-compassion gently smiling and saying….
“I still love you regardless”.
